Clear, organized files save you money and give better results. Follow these steps:
Export stems clean
No bus processing unless it's creative (keep tone-shaping). Remove limiters on master.
Consistent start
All files start at 0:00 so they line up.
Naming
Use clear names: Kick_In.wav, LeadVox_01.wav, Guitar_L.wav
Mono vs Stereo
Print mono sources as mono (e.g. snare). Keep stereo instruments/wide synths stereo.
File format
WAV 24-bit or 32-bit float. For music: 44.1 kHz or 48 kHz (use the session rate). No MP3.
Vocals
Provide clean main vocal + doubles/harmonies + adlibs separated.
Beat stems (every part)
Export EVERY element separately: kick, snare, claps, hats, percussion layers, 808/bass, each melodic layer (pads, plucks, leads), FX/risers. Avoid sending only a stereo beat. More separation = tighter low-end & clearer mix.
FX & Creative
If an effect is essential (reverse, glitch, riser) print it. Also send a clean version if unsure.
Tempo & key
Include BPM and musical key.
Reference track
Send 1–2 references for vibe/space/energy.
Delivery
Zip everything: Artist - Song - BPM - Key - v1.zip (example: Artist Name - Track Title - 140BPM - F#m - v1.zip)
Optional but helpful
Screenshot of your rough mix bus plugins
Notes on mood or what to highlight
Lyrics (for vocal automation moments)
Pro Tools users
You can send the entire project folder. Please also bounce/render tracks that use plugins other than Waves, Universal Audio, FabFilter, Sonnox, or Soundtoys (freeze/commit them) so nothing is missing.
